Twitter boss Jack Dorsey auctioned his first tweet for 2.9 million dollars (2.45 million euros).
Dorsey posted his first message on the Internet Short Message Service on March 21, 2006, it read: “I’m setting up my twttr.” At the beginning of March, he then offered them for sale on the Valuables platform. This announced on Monday that Sina Estavi had been awarded the contract.
Estavi, managing director of the start-up Bridge Oracle, which specializes in blockchain technology, receives a digital certificate as a deed of ownership. Dorsey announced that the proceeds will be donated to poor people in East Africa. Estavi hailed this on Twitter, adding, “I think years later people will see the real value of this tweet, like the painting of the Mona Lisa.”
