The gender distinction plays an important role in the shape of the abdomen: women do not need to accumulate muscle, and losing fat and water is not enough for men. Here are a couple of gender-specific exercise schemes that will tone those midsections. And yes, the plans overlap. So if the two of you are motivated to get in shape, there are several exercises that you can enjoy together.

Ladies, because building muscle isn’t the whole point of your abdominal routine, let’s skip sets, reps of crunches, and push-ups for now. Instead, your workout for abs should focus on your cardio.
