Amazing Engagement Photo Locations in Southern California

We’ve all seen the engagement photo with the happy couple on the beach. You know, the sunset kissing photo or the girl taking a piggyback ride while her man tiptoes through the water? If she is getting married, she will have to think about where she wants to take her engagement photos. The question is, do you know where you are going?

These days, many people are looking for something different. We recently filmed an engagement session at the old Mission San Juan Capistrano. This is a beautiful place with many different looks and feels. There is a $50 shooting fee charged by the facility, but it is worth every penny. The pair ended up with so many perfect takes that it was impossible to pick just one. This is how every session should be!

If you’re planning a spring (March-May) engagement shoot, there’s an amazing place outside of San Diego called The Flower Fields in Carlsbad. There are acres and acres of flowers, gardens, and views of the Pacific Ocean. The admission cost is $10 per person and there is no shooting fee. This is by far one of the more original engagement destinations and there are plenty of restaurants nearby for lunch afterwards. Morning sessions are recommended so you don’t have to deal with the crowds.

Beach engagements are by far the most common. What couples don’t realize is that a great engagement photo can be taken anywhere. It’s all about having fun and having an interesting background. We’re happy to do sunsets and various barefoot kissing poses, but don’t be surprised if you end up choosing the photo you took on the way to the arena next to a brick wall!

Now that you have all these amazing images, what are you going to do with them next? The typical signature frame with an engagement photo is by far the most common. Most couples are not aware of other options available that are much more interesting! You may want to consider an engagement photo book where your guests will be able to see all of their favorite photos from your shoot. In fact, they sign their names and messages on the pages of the book. Another option we offer is an engagement slideshow. This is a collection of your favorite photos with your music. You just need to make sure there is a spot for a TV in the reception area where your guests can watch while they check in. The DVD slideshow automatically repeats to play all night. The best thing about these 2 options is that you’ll enjoy them for years and years and they won’t get stuck in the garage or attic like your signature frame will!
