Caught? What to do with aging parents and growing children

Your parents gave birth to you in the late 60’s and early 70’s and what a childhood. In fact, you played outside, gathered friends for a game of soccer, or played that weekly game of tennis at the local rec center. Now everyone has grown up with kids of their own and night basketball practice, homework, and summer camps are the norm. And what about those parents who did the best they could with what they knew, to make you an upstanding citizen, they’re still here. In other words, they are not dead, they have not passed away and they have not gone to meet their creator.

So what can we do with aging parents and growing children? – Two things. Have fun and take photos of everything (or record on video).

As time passes, and yes, it waits for no one, life becomes even more precious. If I can compare the time with the speed of your WiFi, every time you turn around, it comes at a faster and faster speed. Kids are growing up so fast and mom and dad have found a way to slow down the aging process. They are three generations enjoying life at the same time. Isn’t that precious? Oh what memories for the family.

So start today by gathering the family to take pictures. Yes, do the formal and the informal, just like you did in school. Have fun, chat and of course share a meal. Then grab the nearest smartphone or tablet or fire up your desktop computer and churn out that home movie. Don’t wait for the family meeting, some of you may not.

It’s the weekend and homework needs to be done at their “old” house and the kids have a game. Grab the gear, load up the truck, pick up mom and dad, and everyone join the caravan to see the little ones in action.

Delete or upload old photos and videos so you can free up memory; we will have no surprises. And make sure everyone has enough battery.

Without worries. Grandparents know all about downloading apps, YouTube, and Facebook. Life is not great! Three generations live and everyone is up to date with the latest gadgets, making it easy and exciting to create lasting memories.

so what to do? Have fun and record everything. Time passes, and it passes quickly, but you can slow it down and capture the precious moments.
