Color Suggestions for Wedding Attendees

Colors like wine / cream, wine / champagne, and wine / gold are really nice colors for an October wedding. I think those color options complement each other wonderfully, particularly the wine, gold, and champagne. Other colors to throw in there that would go well would be a deeper shade of copper and another lighter / darker red. Because it will be in the fall time of the year, you could always coordinate the oranges there as well with flowers and centerpieces.

September is a month where you can really wear some of the deep, rich colors. Consider combining the green, which you like, with browns, yellows, oranges, reds, and cream. It would also look nice with cocoa and cream colors. Keep your attendees in mind when selecting colors, as you want everyone to look good in colors.

As an example, you could have your attendees wear cocoa-colored dresses with a cream sash and carry bouquets of the rich mixed colors. This is one way to tie on the green.

You can also use it on bedding. I think if you use green as an accent it should work perfectly. Once you’ve selected your florist, they can also help you match the colors.

You need to select your own dress first (if you haven’t already) and then choose the dresses for your attendees.

Light green would go great with a darker green or a darker red / orange. This would “base” the color on a more summer-fall transition theme. You can use three colors: light green, a darker green (dark sage, hunter, etc.) and combine it with a gold, yellow, burnt orange, or dark red for accent.

I’m not sure how you want to introduce the new colors, but I suggest you wear more pink or maybe gold as the colors you have already chosen are “warm”. The time can be complemented with burgundy accents that would look charming.

Colors are traditionally kept at the bridal party (Bride, BM, MOH, Groomsmen) to make them more distinguishable. Usually the tone of moms with the bridal party, but only to complement rather than match.

If you wanted to complement, you could always look at some type of material stamped with an ivory / cream / gold background, with the pattern in mauve or pink.

I find it works well to give the color swatches and then women can buy their outfits to match (as long as they chat so they don’t end up with the same or similar outfits!).

Like I said, introducing more colors can complicate the look, but if you go for more subtle hues as suggested, this should enrich the look without saturating it.

Would it be possible for the bridesmaids’ dresses to match the color of your sash and then accessorize them with darker pink and sea green sashes? This carries the theme of her pale blush color, but also brings it to life. Use silver as an accent color, both in bouquets and in table settings.

Another color that would work is coconut brown with blush or pink sashes. However, brown would really need gold instead of silver. A rich cream would also be beautiful with the green and pink accents.

Yes, all three colors would work wonderfully together. If you wear lighter colors, wear heavier fabrics, as the wedding is in October.

Yellow and orange would work too.

I will get married in August 2007, my colors will be red and black.

First, the first thing I would say is that you keep all the white for your bouquet. Your maids should have red. Stick with black just for the tape. The reason is that any flower that is black … will look like a hole in the pictures. You can use your white as a fill … if you want to soften the red.

As for where should you buy your flowers? For fresh flowers … I’m always rooting for local vendors first. But if you are having a hard time getting the flowers you really want or there is a shortage of the type of flowers you would like, then you would go online as a last resort for fresh flowers. Always request a proof if you use an Internet source.
