After a positive Covid-19 case in the ensemble, the Vienna State Opera is suspending rehearsals for Richard Wagner’s “Parsifal” until the beginning of next week. The recording of the new production, planned for April 1st, directed by Kirill Serebrennikov and conducted by Philippe Jordan, has therefore been postponed, the Haus am Ring announced.
“As a result, the planned broadcast on Ö1, the broadcast date of the focus on the myth of Parsifal, which was planned for April 5 on ORF 2, and the broadcast date of the entire recording on ORF III,” it said. New recording and broadcast dates have not yet been set. In any case, the cast is top-class: Jonas Kaufmann sings the title role, Elina Garanca sings Kundry. (apa)
