Cyber Caliphate Association?

I just found this interesting CNN read.

It seems that the war on terror waged by the 43rd President of the United States has exploded into another sphere of warfare.

From conventional means of fighting wars on the front lines, we have now moved on to cyber warfare.

And it can’t be too good for us.

The same happens with reporters without borders, where freedom of the press does not stop at the jurisdiction of a country, we, normal citizens, are involved in a war that we do not want, where crime does not recognize the limitations of the physical world .

Simply put, terrorists or self-proclaimed jihadists are fighting for a cause. To fight for the name of Islam. But these terrorists have no idea that their ideology is perverted by their preachers or whoever they claim to be their clergy.

Our crime fighting organizations have always reviewed work fighting these crimes that were commonly known to use firearms and brutal force.

These terrorist organizations have gotten smarter over the decade … and they come alongside the CEC, or the Cyber Caliphate Association.

This race of criminals is different, they participate in their war in a different way where no firearms or brutal force are required. They understood from individuals who are talented and possess skills that no ordinary terrorist has.

What scares me the most is how safe Singapore would be from such attacks. Our economy survives on infrastructures that are mostly digitized and on platforms that are stored and locked in the cyber world and, like any door, can be unlocked if the perpetrator is skilled enough.

Live case scenario

How do we make sure of these attacks? To be sure, the Singapore government always assures us that our cyber security is equipped with the best defenses. There have been cases where money was missing, unauthorized withdrawals were made. And since then, very few cases of money theft have been reported.

My concern is, if it was so easy to steal money, what about personal data? What about the security of our assets, social security passwords, etc.?

Protect yourself from the unauthorized use of your personal data by registering your contact details through the PDPA website. This is the least we can do to protect ourselves from the prying hands of cyber-terrorists like the CEC.

The biggest risk is doing nothing.
