How to Live Lean Successfully: Six Criteria

CRITERION #1: Be willing to do it yourself.

Always keep this in mind: I’m doing it for myself! The moment you begin to believe that you are doing it for someone else (spouse, children, partner, doctors, etc.), your chances of success are threatened. You are an adult who deserves to live a better life and enjoy it to the fullest. Do this for yourself.

CRITERIA #2: Be willing to change your point of view.

The reason you haven’t stopped chewing is because of your mindset.

When we were born we were normal eaters or what I call Non-Munchers. We ate in those days for the purpose of survival and peak performance. This was our way of thinking about food. Then we became Munchers and started thinking like Munchers.

People who think like normal eaters eat normally…people who think like Munchers – munch.

To become an ex-Muncher, you must be willing to give up your current point of view (thought). Most people try to lose weight in the belief that it will work for them. Unfortunately, they don’t know what will work for them.

WHAT IS THE TEST? They are still overweight and still eating.

People are overweight because of their way of thinking.

People binge eat because of the way they think.

People can’t follow a diet because of the way they think

The way we think determines:

What we eat

When we eat

where we eat

because we eat

how we eat

how much do we eat

CRITERION #3: Be willing to stop proving yourself right by not being able to change.

That’s right, be willing to stop proving yourself right about not being able to change. Most people go on a diet and screw it up. They use excuses like:

I don’t have the willpower.

I am different from everyone else.

My life is different from theirs.

I am under too much stress.

I’ve failed too many times before.

I have a slow metabolism.

I promise you that everyone has the power and ability to succeed, as long as they are WILLING TO START SAYING, “I CAN, INSTEAD OF I CAN’T.” It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been overweight, how many diets you’ve been on, or how many times you’ve tried it. You can and you will. Right now, you just don’t know how yet.

CRITERION #4: Be willing to see your fear of failure as less important than the benefits of living lean.

Are you afraid of failure? Fear is normal. A wise man once said; there are two types of people: the one who is afraid and successful and the one who is simply afraid.

The point is that everyone is afraid. Those who are successful recognize it and move on. The unsuccessful give up when they encounter fear. During this process there will be times when you are afraid of failing. When you encounter the fear of failure, you can do one of two things; you can hit the brakes, give up, and give up, or you can floor the gas and go full throttle. See that the benefits of living lean are more important than your FEAR OF FAILURE.

CRITERION #5: Be willing to tell the truth.

The Bible says that the truth will set you free. While telling the truth is difficult enough, knowing what the truth is is even more difficult. The truth is misleading.

CRITERIA #6: YOU ONLY FAIL WHEN YOU STOP TRYING: Be willing to take responsibility for your thoughts and actions.

The Power to Change is a function of our WILLINGNESS to take responsibility for our thoughts and our actions. If we blame others, situations, or even our own weaknesses for our actions, there is no hope that we will change our lives.

If you blame others for your failures: work, stress, family, aging, slow metabolism, or even your dog, what would you have to do to change? Answer: Leave them all… STOP LIVING!

When we point the finger at someone or something for actions or experiences in life, we give our power to that person, rendering us powerless.

Your personal power is a function of your willingness to take responsibility for your actions.

Memorize these six criteria and make them part of your life.
