Make your own large dog muzzle

Most dog muzzles can be purchased at stores. It is more reliable and has the purpose of preventing your dog from hurting others or biting what is not its intention. However, if you are in times of emergency where the dog is injured and you cannot find a muzzle, it is helpful for you to learn how to make one that can be used in a temporary period. Let’s specify that it will be intended for a large dog as an example to explain how to make your own large dog muzzle.

What you need to get a homemade muzzle for large dogs are some thin strips of nylon. If there aren’t any, try getting items like nylon pantyhose, ties, belts, strips of cloth, or laces. You need to make sure that it is cut to around two feet long. Tie a knot in the middle of the strip or whatever item you plan to use. Then make a large bow that has enough room to fit and slip over the dog’s nose and mouth. After that, stand behind your pet. Gently and slowly slide the loop over the nose or muzzle so as not to electrocute the dog. Make sure the loop is not over the nose part as it will disturb breathing. Put it to be closer to the eyes part. Pull both ends of the strap down under the chin part. Then try to tie a knot but not too tight that the dog feels discomfort. Wrap it around your mouth several times and bring the ends behind your ears. Make a bow behind the head. If you tie a knot, it may take longer to untie it in case you need to remove it quickly.

This homemade muzzle is not meant to replace the regular ones you might buy. It is a suggestion and idea for emergency use only. For daily use, this homemade muzzle would not work well to prevent biting and chewing.
