Soon drones to reduce road accidents in Flanders: “We want to study driver behavior”
Posted On March 14, 2021
Drones will be used, among other things, to study driving behavior, as the De Zondag announcement. “We want to study the behavior of drivers at certain traffic points. This should prevent the creation of new dangerous points, called ‘black spots’.”
A first test site will be launched in mid-April in Limburg (Limburg transport region). A second will follow shortly after in West Flanders (Midwest transport region).
The minister does not immediately see any problems in the area of privacy. “Who is in the car, or what you do in it, is not of interest to us. We want to study the behavior of drivers in certain situations. This will help prevent accidents.”
