The Siberian Husky is a breed of working dog that has its roots in Eastern Siberia. It belongs to the Spitz genetic family. It is one of the beautiful funny animals. He seems to have that deceptive appearance that gives you a feeling of his friendliness, but in essence he demands respect from you. But yes, once you have accepted a Siberian husky you will not miss his love. He is known to be friendly most of the time, but appears to be perceptive when observing the body language of other dogs in his sight. And it doesn’t take him any longer to befriend them. He is a natural lover of playing and running. In general, a Siberian Husky rarely puts up a fight with his rival, but if his honor is at stake, he doesn’t mind fighting. Most of the time he was seen running away instead of continuing to fight with another dog.

Coat Description

The undercoat of the Siberian Husky is made up of a thick one that can especially withstand low temperatures down to -58 degrees and can extend down to -76 degrees F (-50 to -60 C). The color of this layer can vary from Jet Black to Pure White. Again, the color can include reddish black, jet black, silver black (diluted), or simply black and white. It can have a pattern called Agouti, which is a very rare color identified with a brindle look.

One of the notable features of the coat is when Siberians are puppies; they are generally known to have outstanding colored masks. But, as it is a recognized fact that everything changes over time, so does the color of their fur. The transition from a puppy to a mature dog has been observed; some of these masks seem to disappear entirely. As a consequence, it leaves the face completely white.

History

If history is to be believed, they were first bred by the Chukchi of Northeast Asia. These were later imported to Alaska in the United States and Canada during the Nome Gold Rush. The reason for sending them to Alaska was obvious. They were intended to be used as sled dogs. However, over time they came to be treated as family pets and were even used as show dogs.

History says that a part of this canine’s name contains a derogatory meaning. The word “Husky” is a mixture of the derogatory term “Eskie” that was used very often by the Inuit that the Europeans met in their expatriations through their lands. And the word “Siberian” is derived from Siberia simply because it was believed that huskies or sled dogs were used only to cross the Bering Strait land bridge, which is located in Alaska. There is another school of thought that believes it originated from the Turkish for “sleeping land”. And yet another group who firmly believed that it was the tribal name of the Sibilla, who were the ancient Turkic nomads.

Temperament

The temperament of the Siberian Husky is alert and cautious. Be careful, please don’t take it for granted. You have to be dignified enough to catch the puppy’s attention. They are not aggressive towards other dogs and are not overly suspicious of strangers.

It is known to be athletic and fast with a modest and compact build and is known to be smooth with an effortless ride. These Siberians have been observed to be gentle and friendly and seem to have ties to a particular person in the family. It can sometimes give you a heartbreaking moment with a diehard stubborn but capable of independent thinking. But one thing is for sure, if you can properly and properly train it, it may be the reason for your delight. One trait that you can expect in a mature Siberian is a measure of dignity from him and being reserved.

His eager disposition, intelligence, and manageability make him perfect for being your working dog and sweet companion.

One trait about him that separates him from other dogs is his calmness. He barely yells or barks. It’s amazing to find some howl with a soft “boo” just to let you know how happy he is to see you or that he’s happy for some other reason. If you can win his love, you’ll find him lying on your lap or, if you’re lucky, he’ll also kiss you when you walk by. It’s always good to cherish these moments when you have a Siberian Husky.
