Triathlon: Emmanuel Lejeune’s crazy comeback in Dubai

Le Hennuyer signed an excellent 12th place when competing over long distances resumed, while Pieter Heemeryck retired.

Five months after his second place in Zadar, Croatia, Emmanuel Lejeune did not miss his recovery on half-Ironman, this Friday, in Dubai. The Quiévrain triathlete was, in fact, ranked 12th in the event in the United Arab Emirates, won by the Danish Kkegard, in 3:33:02, ahead of the Portuguese Azevedo and the Swedish Svenningsson, who arrived in the sprint with the Swiss Salvisberg, long leader and finally ejected from the podium.

Out of the water in 16th position, just behind… Pieter Heemeryck (who retired after the bike), but at one and a half minutes from the lead, Emmanuel climbed from 25th to 12th place thanks to a formidable run on 21 km (1h10’47!) While the thermometer read more than 30 °.
