What is the Corona virus? Why do people call Chinese virus?

This is Universal News 24×7

The new corona virus has wreaked havoc around the world. People have questions like: when will this pandemic end, is there a vaccine that can help slow the spread, and what can we do to protect ourselves and our families?

Well, first of all, you shouldn’t panic.

So what is the corona virus?

Well, it’s a whole family of viruses, the SARS that first hit Hong Kong in 2002 was an outbreak caused by a type of corona virus.

The point is, the common cold also belongs to the corona virus family.

This virus is a completely new strain that was first discovered in Wuhan, China in 2019.

The disease you get when you get the coronavirus it’s called COVID-19.

For a long time, health officials didn’t even know what they were looking at.

Now they suspect that it was an animal virus that was passed on to humans, potentially a live animal market.

We now know that the incubation period, which is the time between the moment the person became infected and the moment they begin to show some symptoms, can be up to 14 days.

This is dangerous because we can have infected people walking around without knowing that they are spreading it to other people.

That is why we see blockades all over the world.

Now the problem is that we see that this virus starts in China, spreads to European countries and does not even leave the world superpower the United States.

Now what about COVID-19 patients.

Well, it is a respiratory illness and it looks like a cough, fever, headache, and shortness of breath.

It spreads like other respiratory diseases like sneezing or coughing in people.

It can even stay on hard surfaces for a long time.

It is not a sudden death disease.

Sometimes it may show mild symptoms and sometimes no symptoms.

For some, it can be like a very very bad cold and, in severe cases, it can lead to pneumonia. Some people can be hospitalized and put on respirators.

So who is at risk?

Immunosuppressed people, the elderly, people with lung conditions or people with chronic diseases.

Currently, we do not have any vaccines.

Since it is a new strain of virus, scientists need time to develop the vaccine. To make sure it is safe and effective, the vaccine will go through many tests and trials.

As India enters lockdown 2.0, according to the Health Ministry, COVID-19 doubling rates have been reduced with the imposition of the lockdown.

So the only thing you can do to protect yourself from the corona virus is

stay home and follow safety measures, such as wearing a mask every time you go out, washing your hands frequently with soap, or using disinfectants. You should go out when it’s really very important.

Stay home, stay safe.
