Let me share with you an easy to understand kindergarten concept. This is something so simple that you are probably ignoring it because it is not exotic or mystical. That concept goes something like this, the more actions you take, the more likely you are to succeed. So what, you might say “wow, big deal,” and your weather wonders, you should continue reading. Well let me dig into this further and add another dimension to this that once understood and applied will increase your chances of outstanding success in your business.

The reason the above statement is true requires further analysis because many people suffer from unrealistic expectations regarding their MLM business. Your belief is something like this. “I just found the holy grail of opportunity, all I’ll have to do is join, follow the simple steps, and violate. I’ll be making $10,000 a month in no time.” Needless to say, this is the wrong mindset to approach your business with, because in this false expectation is the seed of frustration that leads to failure, which leads to an even worse place called giving up on your dream of financial freedom. Why? Because no one ever told you the 90-10 rule. This rule is truly powerful, it states that 90% of your marketing efforts will fail, and that people who achieve rewarding things only do so because they took enough action and were successful 10% of the time.

You’ll see many MLM reps and marketers get unnecessarily upset with their results not knowing that they didn’t even take enough action to get the numbers to start working in their favor. It takes time to find your style and really create a campaign that works for you. If you know that you are supposed to fail 90% of the time, you can sit back, relax, take action, and hope that success will ultimately be yours. Millions and even trillions of dollars are made with a 10% success rate, so don’t take that small number lightly.

So if you like the majority of people who enter this industry with unrealistic expectations of instant gratification, you’re on your way to joining the 98% who leave this industry (lucky you, you’re reading this and now you know the truth), thinking they were scammed or cheated. Well, that may be the case, but really your sponsor wanted to sign you up so badly that he sugar-coated MLM’s view of residual income. I have a confession to make. I used to do this early in my career. If you do this, I’m here to let you know there is a better way.

You’ve heard the expression it’s a numbers game, well it is, I promise you if you take enough action in the direction you want to go, you’ll eventually get su. There are certain skill sets that you can learn to change this ratio, but nothing and I mean nothing is achieved without sacrifice, but you also need the certainty that you can succeed. That is what understanding and living the 90-10 rule can give you.
