Peter Kerber becomes the new director of the KHM-Gemäldegalerie

The picture gallery of the Kunsthistorisches Museum (KHM) remains in German hands: After Stefan Weppelmann left for Leipzig at the turn of the year, it is now clear who will succeed him as director on July 1st: the German art historian Peter Kerber, currently in London at the Dulwich Picture Gallery, is the new head of the KHM-Gemäldegalerie. General director Sabine Haag was delighted to have “an internationally recognized museum man” on the team.
