Corona virus disease and duties of citizens

Corona Virus is a large family of viruses responsible for causing diseases in animals and humans. Many people name the Corona virus as COVID-19, which is not exactly an abbreviation. As detailed by the World Health Organization (WHO), COVID-19 is a recent disease caused by the Corona virus and started in China in December 2019. By the end of the first week of April 2020, the disease or pandemic it had spread to more than 200 countries worldwide. Infected humans get cold, cough, fever, nasal congestion, runny nose, aches and pains, while others initially do not show these symptoms, helping the disease to spread even faster. As there are no medications available for COVID-19, Social Distancing is the only preventive measure available to stop the spread of this disease. All national and state governments are focusing on how to maintain social distancing and contact. Now, in some countries, it has been observed that many people follow the regulations set by the government. and some of them don’t. This article is for all those citizens who really care about their family and their country.

As the WHO mentions, there is no vaccine or medicine available for the disease. Therefore, infected humans should receive treatment and supportive care for symptoms. Potential vaccines and drugs are being tested (for the first week of April 2020). Now the question is how to stop the infection? It is very clear that keeping distance and contact is the only way.

Duties and responsibilities of citizens during the Corona Virus pandemic:

As it is clear that social distancing is the only option, all governments are focusing on lockdowns and closures to reduce infection and contact with the community. People should not leave their home for a certain period of time to avoid contact and infection. Being civilized, all citizens must understand the emergency situation and must be alert. Here we have some of the important responsibilities to follow.

  • Do not spread rumors about the spread like, statistics, drugs, patients, etc.

  • Avoid misuse of social media to spread unnecessary panic

  • Don’t buy food and other grocery items in bulk. Leave some for others too.

  • Don’t buy sanitizers and other handwashing liquids in bulk. Buy the correct quantity required for your family.

  • Follow the advisories issued by the government.

  • Wear a mask if you have symptoms and stay isolated to avoid contact.

  • Do not travel during confinement or closure.

  • Avoid gatherings and gatherings. Start working from home.

  • If you have traveled from abroad or from another state, please stay isolated.

  • If you are going out for essential needs, wear a mask and keep a distance of 1 meter (3 feet) from people.
