Creative ways to decorate with children’s bedding

Parents often run out of ideas when it comes to decorating their children’s bedrooms. The phases and fades come and go so fast it’s impossible to keep up. One minute they’re crazy about the biggest TV show on the Disney channel and then the next they’re completely over it. An inexpensive and creative way to make your room reflect your personality is to use your children’s bedding to do so.

Linen stores around the world have realized the marketability behind trends and fashions with children. A TV character becomes popular and overnight you will be able to buy any item bearing that character’s brand. This is also valid for bedding and you can find all kinds of characters and celebrities printed on duvet covers and pillows.

While it would be expensive to keep buying new clothes, toys, and other name-brand gadgets, you can appease your kids by offering them room makeovers whenever their passions change. It’s much cheaper to replace a duvet cover and pillowcase than it is to replace an entire collection of expensive items.

If you’re on a budget, this is definitely the way to go. Any parent would want to see his child happy and using bedding as a way to decorate his room with his favorite character or celebrity is a great and inexpensive way to do it.

You can even take this a step further and instead of buying name brand bedding, talk to your child about a topic and get more creative. For example, Hannah Montana is a child rock star on TV, so she might look for colors that represent her character and her story instead of buying something with her face on it.

This will save you even more money in the long run because you’ll be buying regular duvet covers and pillowcases but in specific rock star colors and patterns. Her son will easily associate the two and will be just as happy with him, if not more.

Add little touches like faux fur trims and sparkles to give it that star-quality feel and you won’t look back. The same goes for any major TV show or character; Engage your child in a brainstorming session and come up with new and fun ways to decorate their bedroom using that as the basis for their ideas.

A child won’t be able to grow up with a Teletubbies duvet cover, but if it were blue and green, perhaps with a matching pillowcase, then that would be another story. So his money goes further than he would have made and he didn’t have to break the bank in the first place.
