Galapagos National Park Rules

The Galapagos Islands are a phenomenal and educational place to visit, which is why it is so important to do your part while visiting this amazing part of the world!

During your visit to the National Park, you must be accompanied by a certified National Park guide.

The only things you can “take” of the Galapagos are photos and videos. If you want to film videos professionally, you must obtain authorization from the National Park.

Respect the limits of the marked trails.

Do not approach Galapagos animals closer than 2 meters.

There are specific camping sites within the limits of the Park. All camping requires a permit from the National Park.

Please cooperate with local authorities at all times in their inspection, control and monitoring.

Do not bring foreign organizations to the islands.

Do not buy souvenirs made with endangered specimens or natural elements that should not be removed from the islands.

Do not feed the animals at any time.

Do not scratch or mark any rocks or trees.

Please separate your trash accordingly and do not litter.

Do not smoke or light bonfires inside the National Park.

Fishing is strictly prohibited unless it is carried out on board one of the vessels authorized for this purpose.

Motorized water sports are prohibited.
