So today, in this article, we will talk about the SBI Associate Study Program. The written exam for SBI PO selections consists of 2 exams:

Online Exam: This exam contains 4 different sections:

1. General awareness, marketing and computers: General awareness includes banking and current affairs, which together add up to 30 questions in the 50-question section. Computer Awareness and Marketing only assesses the candidate’s basics as it assigns 20 points together and is generally considered the easiest among all the exam sections.

2. English language: Of the 50 questions that appear in this section, about 20 are for Reading Comprehension, while 15 would be for Defective Sentence Construction. Confusing sentences and closed passages account for 5 and 10 questions, respectively. The most difficult questions pertain to reading comprehension, while for others the level of difficulty varies from moderate to easy.

3. Reasoning (high level): It is the most difficult section of the entire SBI associate study program. Important areas are logical reasoning, input – output, sentence coding, syllogism, puzzle / seating arrangement, data sufficiency, direction-based questions. The maximum number of points is assigned to the logical reasoning and puzzle / seating arrangement questions, which are 15 and 10 respectively. While all other question types each contribute 5 questions in the document.

4. Analysis and interpretation of data: Topics covered in this section are Probability, Line Chart Questions, Pie Charts, Bar Charts, and Tables. Most of the questions come from tables, pie charts, and bar charts. These are moderately difficult and are often considered scoring. And the other two categories of sections contribute 10 points together.

To pass the exam, the candidate must earn grade marks in each of these sections. The rating notes are decided by the Bank. The time for this online exam is 2 hours. This exam is followed by a descriptive exam.

Descriptive Exam: The online exam assesses only the basic English skills of candidates. To do a thorough check of your written English and business communication skills, this exam is taken. The syllabus for this exam:

1. Letter writing: As communication in major banks occurs through handwritten letters, feeling the need for this knowledge, this topic is added to the exam. The exam can request anything from a formal letter requesting a branch change to an informal letter to a friend inviting him to vacation with you.

2. Writing essays: Check the candidate’s general awareness and also their ability to translate their thoughts into words. The topics or essay writing are generally known to everyone, but are sometimes specific to the banking sector.

3. Drafting of paragraphs: This section is a shorter version of essay writing. It has to be sharp, clear, expressive, and informative as well. This section will give innovative topics such as ‘If I were a tree’ to topics related to the financial sector.

4. Reading comprehension: Although it sounds like a simple task, the difficulty of this section depends on the passage given. While few paragraphs reveal answers easily, few others use complex words that make it difficult to understand.

5. Accurate writing: This section highlights your creative angle. Look for a candidate for understandability and reframing ability.

Candidates have one hour to complete the descriptive exam. The maximum score for this section is 50. Even in this exam, the Bank decides on a qualifying mark and a candidate is considered qualified if he or she achieves higher marks.

To enter the next level of interview, the applicant must pass both the online and descriptive exams. Also, answer the questions keeping in mind that a negative score of 0.25 is applied for each incorrect answer.
