God is in your business

Obviously, this article is for believers or those who are inclined to believe in God, but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. My intention is not to change your thinking or spiritual beliefs, but rather to share with you my opinion and belief regarding God in your business.

Did you know that God is in your business? God’s Word teaches us that everything we own is sent by God, and everything we have conceived, including the idea of starting a business of our own, is inspired by God. Along with these truths, God has given each of us a gift of choice in everything we think, say, or do. He knows what we are going to do before we do it, but he lets us choose. This gift of choice is ours to do as we please, right or wrong. This is true in business as well as any other endeavor.

Does this mean that God sits idly by while we try to make things right? Certainly not. We are children of God, and as would be the case with any loving and caring Father, He wants to hear from us about what is going on with us and our business. He wants us to trust Him, to have communication with Him. Although we have complete choice in our business decisions, nothing pleases God more than when we include Him in prayer and communicate with God through His Word, the Holy Bible. Not just once in a while, but every day.

Although my parents have passed away, my wife’s father is 88 years old. She makes sure to talk to him on the phone every day. It’s amazing, the things they talk about. It is the same with God. He wants to hear from us even when we don’t need anything. Do yourself a favor. Make the call as if his business depended on it.

And when you pray, how often does this happen? Someone says, “I don’t hear from God. I pray, but I don’t hear His answer. He doesn’t speak to me. It’s a one-way conversation.”

Oh really? Maybe He doesn’t respond according to our schedule. Or maybe he does it answer but we weren’t listening.

As business people, it is very difficult to avoid all the distractions that seem to be constantly present. This is why we need to make God a priority in our business. We owe it to ourselves to set aside quiet time with God to meditate. It doesn’t have to be a long time. Just one on one special time. I intentionally use the terms “meditate” and “quiet time” as a way of suggesting that sometimes it’s okay to say nothing when spending time with God. He knows what he is struggling with and will not let him down the moment he needs to make a business decision. Let me talk to you. It may not be the way you expect. God sometimes communicates with us through others for his own purpose. And he may not be in our time frame. God is saying that despite what you may think, you have the time you need. Do not rush to decide. Think about it. Write it in your journal or whatever works for you. God can even speak to you through your written word. I know it sounds weird, but it happens.

Business owners face decisions on a regular basis. Some of these decisions are easy to make, but others are problematic and difficult to make. When we face difficult decisions, particularly problematic decisions, God wants us to consult with Him through prayer. He wants us to include him in prayer. He wants our decisions not to be hasty. Basically, he’s saying “let’s go to sleep”. Because God communicates with us in many ways, He also wants us to seek the advice of like-minded people in our decision-making, whether they are church counselors or pastors, or a circle of other believers, and to receive teaching. and guide through His word.

God IS in your business. Your business, your life and your salvation are His business and He wants to help you. God wants to hear from you regularly. And He is open for business 24/7.
