How to build trust: the 5 main keys

Confidence is the master key to making all your dreams come true, even in the midst of trials and tribulations. Here are the top 5 keys that show you how to build trust if this is an area you’re struggling with. Once you master these keys and develop your self-confidence, all the doors that were previously closed to you will open.

I’m sure there are extremely confident people you know or have seen. People you’ve said you’d like to be like. How did you know they were confidants? Maybe it was because of the way they talked or behaved. Self-confidence is especially evident through someone’s speech and also through their body language.

Everyone is capable of learning self-confidence. This is not something that anyone has to be born with. We’ve all had events in our lives that have knocked our confidence down, but it’s time to get it back.

1.Self-concept

To develop self-confidence, the first step is to change the way you think about yourself. You will need to examine your self-image to determine what your self-defeating ideas are. Stop programming yourself for failure with your own image and what you say about yourself.

It’s time to reprogram yourself and one way to do that is to replace all negative thoughts about yourself with positive thoughts. This may be difficult to do at first, but it is very important and should be done daily.

You must realize that if you don’t believe that you are worthwhile, you will never achieve anything worthwhile and your dreams will remain exactly that: dreams. Make building your self-confidence a priority.

2. Body language

Be aware of how you are using your body because your body language speaks volumes to others. For example, when you cross your arms over your body, this means to others that you are closed or nervous and not that you have confidence in yourself.

People are always evaluating your body language in social situations and it’s always important to be mindful of how you present yourself. If you cross your arms, slouch, don’t make eye contact, all of this sends negative messages to others.

3. Change the environment

Look around you and notice who you surround yourself with or the environment you are in. Are people or the environment supportive of building trust or is it negative? Do all your friends speak negatively? Misery loves company! If you feel miserable and mistreated at your job, it may be time to change jobs.

Do your friends or family sow seeds of discouragement and doubt in you by saying that you will never be able to achieve your dreams or improve yourself? If so, they are spirit vampires, and you will need to make a decision to limit your contact with them or stay away from them altogether.

Building your self-esteem and confidence is a very important task that involves what you hear. Listen to the right things and watch your confidence build little by little.

Venture into new environments and make new friends who don’t know you and haven’t made judgments about you and don’t have preconceived notions about you.

4. Practice, practice, practice

Having confidence requires daily practice. You may have to “fake it ’til you make it.” You have to create new habits every day to replace all the confidence destroying habits you have practiced in the past.

Whether you believe it or not, at the beginning of building trust, you need to act confident. Practice the speech patterns and body language of a confident person you know or have seen. If you do it long enough, it will become second nature to you.

5. Make achieving your dreams your main focus

Have you given up on your dreams? Do you think you will never reach them? It’s time to believe in yourself again and believe that you can achieve anything. As the saying goes, if you think you’ll never make it, you’re right! The reverse is also true, if you think nothing is impossible, guess what, you’re right!

Too many people have given up on their dreams. They have simply stopped trying due to a lack of confidence to continue the pursuit of their dreams and happiness.

Being confident means persevering through one obstacle after another.
