How to Make Carp Baits – Boilies and Dough Baits the Easiest and Best Way!

Put yourself in a much more powerful place by really understanding what carp bait is on a deeper level! If you want or need to improve your homemade baits and defeat prepared baits, read on now!

What is your favorite carp bait and what mental image do you have thinking of your favorite bait? Most likely you are thinking of a typical round ball or barrel-shaped object. But is the ultimate truth of what carp bait really is and can be at its most potent? Consider how much bait has evolved in the last 50 years. So just ask yourself what improvements and changes will be made throughout the bait world over the next 50 years, considering the internet is a gigantic pool of resources for this intent! The bait is not necessarily what you think it is or can be!

Note that today’s bait bosses, particularly in the UK, started at their own kitchen tables making their own homemade baits. Even the guy who invented the famous Grange bait and was one of the founding partners of Mainline Baits started out in his shed and kitchen making and testing homemade baits. So remember that making your own homemade baits today is no different than the guys who run the biggest companies! But you need to understand something very important about carp bait!

The fact is that most commercial ready-to-use baits today are still basically the same recipes and formulations that were first made known by more forward-thinking and more well-connected angles in the know, over 30 years ago. or 40 years. And yet, the vast majority of commercial boilie baits are heated by boiling them in water. This means that the vast majority of baits used by anglers using ready-to-go boilies are based on extremely outdated and now obsolete thoughts and concepts!

As far as outdated and old-fashioned stuff goes, it’s worse than that, because in reality baits made this way are drastically counterproductive because so many of their features, modes of action, and more are too familiar to criticize these days.

Carp got used to and wary of barrel baits 10 years ago, therefore they have no advantage over round boilies! Also commercial bait manufacturers insist on using egg as a binder and base in their recipes, and tend to do so because it has always been done that way!

However, one of the most impressive ways to limit the effectiveness of a carp bait is to base it on egg and heat it to make it insoluble and really hard to digest. You can really laugh at how old fashioned this bait idea is, most of these and many other features and production methods are still slavishly adhered to by home and commercial bait makers around the world!

Another factor that should be made clear is that before fishmeal baits became a cult, most anglers did not use fishmeal baits and in fact caught the same amount of fish using a much larger amount. minor free bait. You have to question the reasons for this! These days, many anglers are becoming increasingly wary of ready-made baits because they simply don’t catch the quantity and quality of fish that anglers are promised will be able to catch with them! It appears that a large number are being fished using ready-made baits simply because most anglers use ready-made baits, however the same numbers would apply if anglers use stiffs, worms, or maggots.

Of course, these don’t get the celebrity treatment like ready-made boilies in twisted infomercials to push branded boilies in all the flashy carp magazines with the words food bait etc. everywhere, as if worms, bread dough or maggots weren’t if food bait is something new!

Of course, much of carp fishing today is about capturing and holding the shrinking attention span of anglers looking for the next best thing in psychologically stimulating flashy packaging and flashy ads and disguised subliminal advertising. of tutorials in detailed articles in magazines.

The fact is that magazines are paid for by advertisers like Mainline, Korda, etc., which is exactly why they appear everywhere! But this is not carp fishing. It’s cunning trading psychology and the carp don’t watch your videos or read your magazines!

So what is bait if not those shiny balls promoted as the latest in carp bait, carp technology and science, and the only thing you should be using according to the mainstream commercially biased mindset? I compare ready-made bait to candy at a candy store, as they are made for this main reason; to make bait makers money. Therefore, they will use any psychological meanings, words, images, colors, and jargon to entice humans to buy their products and brands!

They even encourage shoppers to become so obsessed with a brand, that people get anxious if they’re not wearing that brand! That is the power of psychology folks, but that has nothing to do with the truth about what is the best and most ideal concept of what the most effective and forward thinking carp baits really are!

In fact, I’ve had fishermen come up to me on the shore and insist that this or that brand of bait is the best bait in the world, even though they haven’t caught anything in 4 days and nights of fishing in still water with spawning. of tents. approaching! I have also occasionally had anglers say that they fear their chances of catching carp are zero unless they use the so-called bait that everyone seems to be using. Both examples are brilliant illustrations of the commercial carp bait psychological machine in action!

Get people through constant exposure to advertorials, videos and ads and group mentality conditioned enough by peer pressure to totally rely on your brand of bait! So, out of fear, anglers won’t take the perceived risk of trying new things, new concepts, new brands, or even truly thinking original thoughts and thinking for themselves, and will slavishly stick to what they’ve been conditioned to use and how. think so what to do!

In Eastern Europe, where such tactics have been used to control minds in many ways other than carp fishing, people are much more aware and sensitive, and I know many Eastern European fishermen refuse to use prepared baits because they are made by the same people who publish the magazines. In a way though, this is the same in the UK as magazines only survive through constant advertorials and conditioning by anglers pushing branded bait and tackle and the main income from magazines is companies that pay for expensive advertising. This makes carp fishing a very biased and biased industry!

Yet amongst all the recycled and often misleading and misguided scum, there are gems of wisdom and also independent thinkers with a genuine goal of helping their fellow anglers rather than simply increasing their market share and bank account.

It is very obvious when talking to fishermen on the bank how brainwashed they are by company advertising, advertorials, videos and the like. It seems like some anglers just bought everything at the tackle shop yesterday, and insist that if you’re not using the same brand of bait as them, then you must be crazy or just plain ignorant!

In fact, I might stand out because I personally use homemade baits and my only goal in testing is to beat all the leading brand baits or lesser brands, because my goal is to help train my fellow anglers to be able to do the same, and never be dependent on ready-to-use baits ever again!

I want my fellow anglers to be so impressed by the success of their own creativity based on a very solid input of knowledge and information that I provide that they will never look back, and never use off-the-shelf baits again! I have accomplished this for countless people and this makes me very happy! However, bait companies are not out of pocket, because anglers need suppliers of exceptional additives, human-grade ingredients, and liquids of outstanding potency, and it’s up to the companies to find such substances!

It is up to the bait companies to provide these fresh products of guaranteed quality if they want to attract increasingly sophisticated customers. This is correct because it means more fish in the bank for customers and less time in the bank to get more fish! Gone are the days of waiting for big fish using cheap baits that just waste your time on the bank!

The most powerful way to take back control is to make your own baits by educating yourself!

You can’t have the biggest edge of bait if you’re using the exact same out-of-the-box bait as other anglers on your lake. The biggest advantage in carp fishing is being different. This means that if you’re the first to use a bait in the water, that’s great. But if not, it can severely reduce your chances. I am no longer a believer in the old nutritionally high bait or balanced nutritional bait or food bait theory, but I used it slavishly for 25 years.

But now I’m using my own new theory and it outperforms food bait and instant attraction bait. I use a slightly different homemade bait every time I go fishing, so I literally give my fish a whole new experience every time. But it’s how I differentiate my baits every time that’s crucial, which involves knowledge, a long history of bait testing and consulting and creative skills and all of this can be passed on to others if they really want to know more. This is how I hooked 10 of the 10 forty pound carp in particular water, instead of just hooking the same 4 forty that the regulars kept catching on their prepared baits and pellets.

Bait is where individual fish sensitivities meet functional internal and external factors plus reactive water factors and your own level of understanding of fish in the context of their world, because the most effective bait is a reflection of your fish! target fish! Bait is not a question of whether a fish wants to eat a Mars bar or a steak dinner. It has nothing to do with that misconception. You need to understand that carp are constantly evolving individually, genetically, and each fish changes every day based on their experiences and exposure to the bait and individual taste and other unique levels of sensitivity!
