Taiwan’s southernmost tip is home to the beautiful Kenting National Park, with white sand beaches, coral reefs, and caves. To the north are mountains and the town of Kenting, where you can dine and drink. Overlooking the park are the Frog Rock outcrop and Dajianshan peak. Located on the southern tip of the Hengchun Peninsula, the national park is an excellent place to go for a beach vacation.

If you’re travelling by bus, a bus to Kenting National Park leaves every fifteen to thirty minutes during the day, from 8:30am to 7pm. This means you can be at the park in about 90 minutes. If you’re not in the mood for a long drive, an express bus is the perfect option.

If you’re looking for wildlife to see while you’re at the park, you’ll find many endemic species of birds and reptiles. Birds include the Chinese sparrow hawk and the gray-faced buzzard. You can also see turtles, including the endangered hawksbill, as well as sharks like the bull shark and the whale shark.

The park was created in 1984 after a number of environmental damages threatened the surrounding area. President Chiang Jing-Guo ordered that the land be set aside as a national park to protect it. The park is bordered by the Taiwan Strait, the Pacific Ocean, and the Bashi Channel.

The park stretches for 152 square kilometers around the coast, making it a perfect coastal retreat. The seaside areas surrounding the park make it an ideal place for watersports, boat rides, and diving. The national park is open all year round, and the best time to visit is during the dry season.

One of the highlights of the park is the 81-metre-high Guishan. This mountain has been awarded international recognition, and its name is a literal translation of “Tortoise Mountain”. The mountain resembles a tortoise bursting from its shell. Guishan is located in the heart of Kenting National Park, and is the first place visitors see when entering the park. Hikers can admire panoramic sea views from the 81-metre-high peak. The climb is easy and scenic, and the glowing sunset views from the summit are well worth the effort.

The park is also home to a series of breathtaking waterfalls. During the Japanese colonial period, this park was developed into a tropical botanical garden. The park includes attractions such as the Looking-Glass tree, Fairy Cave, Silver Dragon Cave, and the Observation Tower. In addition to Kenting, there is the 127-hectare Sheding Natural Park, a large green space with waterfalls, streams, and trees.

The park is also home to the Kenting National Forest Recreation Area, aka “Kending Guo Jia Sen Lin You Le Qu”. This area is characterized by a rocky coastline, a jagged coral cave, and other geological features. One Line Sky is among the most picturesque places in the park, with its split-splitting sky caused by earthquake activity.
