Pedigree puppy buyers: are you aware of how shocking and distressing so-called puppy mills are?

Buying a pedigree puppy can be troublesome and troublesome unless you buy one from a reputable source.

I once bought a puppy online years ago and the poor thing got sick after only a few days and I finally had to put him down.

If you don’t know what a puppy mill is, let me tell you…

These puppy mills actually started around World War II when US farmers needed an alternative income to protect themselves from crop failures. So they began to use their land to raise cubs. Before long, greed and ignorance turned these places into a living nightmare for the poor pups.

Animal welfare organizations put pressure on these horrible places and managed to have an impact that resulted in the Animal Welfare Act of 1966.

Nowadays, when you want to buy your pedigree puppy, there are many places online that provide a service, however, not all of them are what they seem to be.

Unsuspecting would-be dog buyers have shopped at puppy mills where the dogs are stacked floor-to-ceiling in wire mesh cages, not the best environment for cuddly cuddly puppies!

A few cases have come to light where a puppy is bought from such a place and then days later it gets sick and has to be euthanized. In fact, many of the poor puppies kept in these terrible conditions get sick, have diseases, or simply die before finding a compassionate owner.

If you care about animals, and I’m sure you do if you’re reading this, then make sure you do your homework first and buy from a reputable breeder.

The only way to stop these puppy farms is to buy them from a reputable dog breeder.
