Preparing for a Shopping Review: Considerate Consumer Articles and Reviews

It seems like shopping review articles are all over the internet these days, and they also seem to rank higher than other types of online articles in search engines. This should come as no surprise because search engines know that retailers and people who sell products and services are willing to advertise on pages that appear when people are looking to buy something or learn more about a certain product.

Search engines not only make money by placing these types of articles at the top, but retailers, blogs, website owners, newspapers, magazines and even ezines also know that if they include such articles , they can sell more advertising. Simply put, shopping review articles are not only desired by consumers, but also by publications.

In the last two years, as a consumer, I have written nearly 500 such articles, spanning several different sectors, such as; jewelry, computers, books, personal electronics, and business equipment. I am always amazed at the amount of traffic these articles get online and how often I am asked to republish them by trade magazines, ezine publishers, and newspaper publishers.

One thing I have found is that editors like article authors who write positive Shopping reviews, but you should never leave out criticizing the product or service. After all, if you’re writing an article about something you bought and everything is positive, then it doesn’t seem real. In fact, it might even catch the eye of those who enforce fashion marketing laws at the Federal Trade Commission.

If you’re going to write shopping review articles, I hope you’ll consider this, as it’s something I’ve learned over the last three years doing just that. Think about it.
