Self defense is about developing your killer instinct

How aggressive are you? Or should it be to face a violent street confrontation? Furthermore, how much do you value their survival? So what can make you a real effective street fighter and good martial artists? How can you develop the courage you need to persevere when the going gets tough and the odds are against you?

In a word: mentality. Yes, it is your mindset, your will to win, no matter what it takes, that will help you get through any confrontation. Don’t worry about the technique which is only 10% of the whole equation. It is your way of thinking, which is 90% of the total you must train to succeed on the streets.

In short, that’s what you need to focus on because if you don’t have the right mindset in a fight, it won’t matter how many techniques you know or how many years you’ve been training or how many black belts you have. this and that art.

You see, without the proper mindset the will to win, in a street fight you will lose anyway. Remember, there are no rules, referees, or second chances. Winning or losing is as simple as that hospital or morgue in a real fight, it’s that serious. It’s up to you. Enough talk.

In your training, knowing hundreds of different movements is not worth it, if you do not have the right mentality to start. Don’t take my word for it, ask any special forces personnel and they will answer that training the mind to survive is just as important as any unarmed physical combat and tactical training they can undertake.

This can take the form of certain types of endurance tests or strenuous tasks that not only push you to the limit physically but also mentally. This type of training aims to break each individual down and turn him into a warrior.

As a result, and to be good in no time at brutal hand-to-hand combat, mental training to acquire the right mindset, win at all costs, and never give up gives you invincible strength in times of real danger. Best of all, it can work for anyone.

True, any Special Forces soldier must have outstanding stamina and ability both physically and mentally. They must learn to overcome obstacles in the countryside and cities, think quickly, and succeed in combat with or without a weapon.

Like you or I as a martial artist, we must train and put in great effort to do the best we can in the art we choose. At the same time, to survive a street attack or any form of aggression against yourself you must go beyond simple training in techniques. The combat of reality is not the dojo or the training room, it is real.

It’s about delving into your psyche, conditioning your mind to deal with violence in any form and at any time or place.

Street Survival is like a game of chess.

Conditioning the mind to think of self-protection and not self-perfection is to automatically respond when the need arises. Reality on the street is like a game of chess and if you can act first or react as the case may be, you can get ahead of a violent aggressor and have a better chance of staying safe.

Furthermore, the street is an unpredictable scene both violent and aggressive. Is physical action alone only part of the equation? Traditional non-contact training alone will not teach you to recognize the deceptive behavior of today’s street bully and prevent disaster from happening.

By having the right mindset, you will not only prepare you to recognize the many facets of aggression and violent behavior so that you can see it coming, you will learn to avoid it in the first place.

Training both your mind and body through visualization will ensure that you have the upper hand in dealing with those who may want to do you harm. Don’t think this is a fancy idea that it isn’t and many, many professional people in all walks of life and around the world use it successfully to achieve their goals. Not just martial artists and the military.

In the self-protection fraternity, it’s no secret that real protection is 90% mindset / intention and 10% skill based. What this means, use your brain not just your fists. This is not a textbook theory, it is a fact. And understanding yourself is just as important as understanding your enemy.

Most importantly, it is what is going on in your head, not in your hands, that will determine the outcome of any street fight.

Therefore, developing the proper mindset is vitally important when it comes to your self-preservation in a confrontation and can determine the outcome of whether you win or lose.

Hard train.
