Singapore Cleaning Problems: How To Deal With Them

singapore maid problems – You probably have them when you hire a maid in Singapore through a Singapore cleaning service agency.

As a side note, note that Singaporean maids are also known as Singaporean maids, au pairs, foreign domestic workers, nannies, “ah-mahs,” or nannies. Some even take them on as babysitters in Singapore! More experienced maids are generally known as Singapore transfer maids.

Herein lies the paradox in maid employment in Singapore: you are frustrated when you don’t have a maid, and you are equally frustrated when you do have a maid.

Many Singapore maid problems stem from miscommunication or misunderstandings. This is especially true if your Singaporean maid has weak English (more so for Indonesian maids than for Filipino ones) or if she has a hard time understanding what you want her to do. This can be the case for both new domestic workers and those moving to Singapore.

Maid problems can also stem from a character flaw in the maid or an attitude problem with the girl. This is despite their efforts to select the Singapore maid or having a professional Singapore cleaning service agency pre-select the girl.

In maid jobs in Singapore, the maid can also change her mind about working with you, for any reason. However, she doesn’t know what to say to you, and as such, she “spoils the show,” so to speak, so you’ll fire her. In that case, it is you who does not want her, and not the other way around.

Singapore maid problems can also arise if the Singapore maid gets sick or worse, gets pregnant. Some of them may even run away for whatever reason. The list can go on and on.

So how can you deal with these problems? Frankly, I don’t have the perfect solution. However, here are some points for your consideration. They are philosophical, and it’s okay if you disagree with them.

Let’s start with a simple understanding of life and draw a parallel with the employment of maids in Singapore.

In an office environment, there are employees who are good at their jobs and others who are not. There are others who always finish on time or just can’t follow directions. To make matters worse, there are backstabbing and office politics.

Sometimes, despite headhunters’ best efforts and thorough interviewing and cross-checking, the best candidate for vice president just doesn’t work out.

To go further, sometimes the children fight or the spouse may have an affair somewhere. And finally, no matter what happens, we will all die one day…

Accept it, life is like that. Things happen. Events happen. Singapore cleanliness problems happen. It doesn’t just happen to you, it happens to many others too. As long as you are alive, sometimes you have problems! Only the dead have no problem!

Does this understanding help with your Singapore cleaning problems? Hope so. If you put your Singapore maid problem in the right perspective against the other events in your life, it really isn’t a problem. But, if you make the Singapore maid problem the focal point of your life, then you have a problem.

Generally, one gets frustrated when a cleanliness issue arises in Singapore. This is especially the case if the maid can’t understand what you want her to do or if she can’t follow your instructions.

Now when that happens, watch your frustration or anger. See how angry or frustrated you feel, and keep it in check. Please note that in Singapore, domestic workers are protected from both physical and psychological abuse. So don’t let your anger get you into trouble.

Let me share with you my simple troubleshooting methods. It works for all problems and there are only 3 simple solutions. One, solve the problem. Two, let the problem be. And three, get out of trouble.

Let me illustrate my point. Let’s say your Singaporean maid can’t understand her instructions. One, solve the problem: teach her English, send her to a course, get her a dictionary, etc. Two, let the problem be: live with it. Three, get out of trouble: she changes to the maid from Singapore.

So there really is nothing to be angry or frustrated about. Either you solve the problem, you allow the problem to be, or you get out of the problem.

Here’s a secret from a Zen master: “I don’t care what happens.” The key word here is “mind”. The more you think about the Singapore maid not doing her job, the angrier you get. The angrier you get, the more you want to unleash your anger on someone. At this stage, you might really do something wrong… so watch your emotions and stay in control. And stop thinking about being angry. Take a few deep breaths and be still… and calm as the silent lake…

Also, don’t go yelling at the Singapore maid agency or your Singapore maid or Singapore au pair, or even your children. If you do that, you can sour your relationship with them, and this is the last thing you want. If necessary, part amicably so there are no hard feelings. Life is too short to harbor bad feelings, don’t you think?

singapore maid problems? No problem, if you don’t “care” what happens…
