South Park – WTF (Wrestling Federation)

South Park continues its run of great new episodes for the second part of season 13 with a show titled WTF which stands for Wrestling Takedown Federation and follows the boys as they try to become professional wrestlers. The show opens with the guys enjoying a WWE show in Denver and not only falling in love with it, but also deciding that this is what the future holds for them. They decide to join the school wrestling team the next day, but quickly learn that professional wrestling and school wrestling are two very different things. The wrestling coach is accused of being a child molester as he tries to show them legitimate wrestling positions and the guys quickly leave, leaving the poor coach angry that people think WWE is real.

The guys set up a ring in the backyard of one of their houses and have a script they wrote that, like professional wrestling, has very little to do with moves and everything to do with drama. They each have their stage names and they begin to elaborate in-ring scenarios involving infidelity, murder, an 8-year Vietnam vet, and Cartman dressed as a girl and recounting a story of abortion addiction. The townspeople begin to gather and are stunned by the revelations, becoming hooked on the supposed real life drama that is going on with these children. Word of mouth begins to attract more and more fans. There are folding chairs scattered around the ring and they fill up quickly as the evening show progresses.

At a local bar, some of the WTF fans are having a beer and talking about all the hardships those poor kids have been through. At another table, the school’s wrestling coach overhears and grows angry as the conversation progresses. He finally gets up and starts yelling at them that it’s all fake before pulling the iPhone out of him to show them a video of the actual fight. They, in turn, tell her to leave the bar with his gay porn.

The boys’ wrestling shows are becoming more popular, and one of them comments backstage that it’s a good thing they’ve added more seats. Then we take a look at the stage and they have built an entire Colosseum in the backyard with a thousand seats and a huge Roman stage in the background. They receive a letter from WWE saying that Vince McMahon would be coming looking for them. This is more than Coach can handle and when the WWE Chairman shows up and settles into his luxury box in the kids’ backyard, the Coach who just lost his job at school fires a rocket at the stage. . There is a misfire, so only Kenny dies.

The trainer then takes the stage to give a monologue about losing his job and the entire crowd gets into his corner before Vince McMahon comes down and offers him a job. The guys are out of a job in the ring and start fighting with each other over whose fault it is. The crowd gets bored with the wrestling and says it’s not real wrestling when they start dating. Another great episode from the people of South Park.
