The world sees Jesus through us

Jesus and God created the earth. That’s so. Look at the majestic mountains. Look at the tiny flowers. Look at the roaring waters of the ocean. Listen to the strong winds that blow off the Cape, as if they could cut through everything.

There must be a God.

Look at humanity, how beautifully we have been created. Talk to the doctors who still find out so much about people, who don’t understand everything, because their Creator is simply too big, too high, too magnificent.

Yes, the Creator leaves a huge impression on all who meet him.

Jesus is real. Jesus really exists. 4Meanwhile, God was validating him with gifts through the Holy Spirit, all kinds of signs and wonders, as he saw fit.

Blade’s people could walk. The blind could see again. The demons were driven from people to pigs and chased off a cliff. The rough leprous scabs were washed off with water. The sinners’ heaps of sin were washed away with blood.

God colored the spectacular display of his Son walking the earth with one miracle after another. When God and Jesus came to earth, things happened that no human had ever seen before.

However, God’s stories about his Son do not end here. They feel the Spirit of him to tell the story with them. The Holy Spirit continues to tell the true story of Jesus here on earth. He does it in a very special way.

He does this through the special gifts that God gives to each of us according to his will. God speaks of Jesus. Jesus talks about Jesus. The Holy Spirit speaks of Jesus. And now each of us must listen well.

4Meanwhile, God was validating him with gifts through the Holy Spirit, all kinds of signs and wonders, as he saw fit.

People also talk about Jesus. How they did it? Through the gifts we receive from God as He wanted. The world is in great need of God, but they have become deaf to the voices of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. They cannot believe, because Jesus is not real and true to them.

But people still hear the language of love today. People cannot remain deaf when someone comes to them in love. When God’s children make our love come true through our gifts, they see that we are different. They see the real Jesus.

This is a difficult task and I almost feel like I won’t make it. Fortunately, the Holy Spirit is there to help us use the talents we have been given. If we do that, the world will also see the real Jesus.

Let’s do that.

Holy Scripture
Hebrews 2:1-4

Reflection
What gifts do you have?
Do you believe that Jesus is real?
Can others see it in you?

Prayer
Yes Jesus! I think you’re real. I believe you have walked the earth. I believe that you died on the cross for every human sinner like me. I believe my sins have been forgiven. I know the world can see you in the way I live out my gifts in the world. Please let it be so. Amen.
