Tinea versicolor treatment: a natural, effective and simple treatment that uses mud

Tinea versicolor is light white in color, so in the winter and fall, no one can actually see it. However, when the sun rises and the individual tans, tinea versicolor appears, once hidden. I have seen many patients with this and some have suffered unnecessarily with it for years. There are simple and effective natural treatments that, when followed correctly, generally result in a very, very happy person.

We’ve all heard that tea tree oil works wonders as a natural treatment for tinea versicolor. Did you know that applying so much tea tree oil to your skin can be toxic? Do you realize that there are some not-so-healthy ways to extract tea tree oil? If you decide to use tea tree oil, which I don’t recommend, dilute it with olive oil and choose a steam-distilled tea tree oil. Many companies do not indicate if tea tree oil is steam distilled or if they use strong toxic solvents.

We have heard of many recommending Selsun Blue as a treatment for tinea versicolor; however, that doesn’t work for many either, as it doesn’t contain enough active ingredient.

What does work, and has been used as a natural treatment for centuries, is topical sulfur mud. Sulfur is a natural antifungal agent that when applied to the skin of these patients for two weeks, everything disappears. Skin pigmentation needs to be adjusted once tinea versicolor subsides, especially if the person has lighter skin and is tanned. Once the pigmentation of the skin adjusts, no one will be able to say that the person suffered from this.

Where is this sulfur-containing mud found?

From under the lakes typically. One such sulfur-containing mud is called Saprox and it comes from the depths of a lake in the Czech Republic. Saprox is a natural treatment and has worked successfully in many patients who suffer from it. While Saprox works well on the surface, tinea versicolor doesn’t just show up on everyone’s skin, does it?

Why does this appear? That is not fully known, but I have strong ideas about it.

  • If your immune system is not up to date, you are more likely to get yeast infections.
  • If you eat a diet high in carbohydrates and sugars, you are more likely to get yeast infections.
  • If you are under stress, you are more likely to suffer from it, as stress increases blood sugar levels.
  • If you don’t get enough vitamin D, vitamin A, zinc, selenium, you are more likely to suffer from tinea versicolor. Keep in mind that these are nutrients for the skin AND nutrients for immune support … hmmmmm

Remember this please. The skin is telling you something. Don’t just rub something and think that it will go away forever. Change your diet, ensure proper nutrition and sun exposure, reduce stress and use healthy soaps, and you could add, a shower filter. That is the key. And I almost forgot.

Why is a chlorine shower filter important for Tinea Versicolor sufferers?

  • Chlorine is a skin irritant. Why?
  • Because it dries the skin, causing the skin to produce more oils in an attempt to rehydrate it.
  • A viscous cycle occurs as the chlorine continues to hit the skin in the shower, causing the skin to produce excess oil.
  • Too much oil equates to a higher chance of skin problems like acne and tinea versicolor.
  • Installing a chlorine shower filter prevents chlorine from coming into contact with the skin.
  • Your skin is no longer very dry with a chlorine shower filter, so your skin no longer has to produce as much excess oil.
  • Less excess oil production leads to healthier skin.

That also brings up another point. Use natural soaps. Don’t use very astringent ones either, as you don’t want to dry out your skin with them. Use a good oatmeal soap or something similar. Consider brushing dry skin and a nice rough towel, not those big fluffy ones. Rough your skin, it likes to breathe.

Between applying Saprox Natural Antifungal, installing your new chlorine shower filter, changing your diet, increasing your nutrients, and using less harsh soaps, yours will be gone forever.

Mark my words. I have seen people improve with this system.

I want you to do it too.
