Ways time is wasted

There are twenty-four hours in each day. In reality, everyone gets exactly the same amount of time. However, it is interesting to note that some people misuse or waste time even at peak productivity. It is important to keep in mind that success or failure happens over time. What you do with your minute influences the overall outcome of your life. The quality of activity in a minute when combined or accumulated explains the magnitude of the impact it has both now and in the future. Some choose to make sure their time is spent productively, while others watch time go to waste. Time that is lost can never be recovered. Imagine this, the minutes you will spend reading this article can never be relived. Once they’re gone, it’s like a one-way street, you can’t go back and take the last mile back. You have to take charge of the next mile based on how much time you lost in the last mile. I have seen people who dedicate themselves to crying over what lies in the past instead of embracing a new day, a new beginning.

How people waste time easily

– Idle talk: Sometimes friends may call you and talk a lot about nothing in particular. Ask yourself at the end of the conversation the question “what was this call for?” If you can confidently itemize the benefits derived from the last 10 minute call, then that call was worth it. If you can’t do that, know that you were in an idle talk loop. Avoid people with such tendencies. Find a way to avoid them without hurting their feelings. Obviously you won’t say it in black and white, but you will find a way to avoid such calls.

– Online chat leading nowhere: It’s interesting how a tool like the internet can be so useful, and yet someone else can start abusing the feature by spending 90% of productive time connecting with friends and strangers. I won’t be drawn into pointing out specific tools, but in most cases, online chat gets in the way of productivity in business. I’m talking from experience here. There are times when I personally open certain sites that end up being addictive, you just can’t wait to see how the next person is doing. It looks exciting and before you know it, the day is gone and none of the items on the TO-DO list have been addressed. Be careful chatting outside of business hours or risk not having the internet at all.

– Unplanned visits: when I started in the business, I never wanted to disappoint close friends and relatives who just wanted to come to my office to “kill time” or spend time talking when I was supposed to build my business, seeking advice, etc. . When I realized the impact this was having on my lack of business growth, a new rule came into effect. I refused to talk to people who didn’t make an appointment. People do not enjoy such organized ways of conducting life and business. Once you present those things, you get branded as a snob or someone who is proud. I would rather have the label and be productive while working to establish a legacy for my grandchildren than fulfill while destroying everything I’ve built. There is a time and a place for entertaining guests.

– Refusal to ask for information – The easiest and most common way to waste or waste time is to try things you have no skills or experience without asking for help. It’s sad that things that can be done in minutes sometimes take days if done by someone who doesn’t have the right exposure or access to a better way of doing things.

– Arguing with fools – Argumentative people enjoy debating topics, even those they don’t construct. They enjoy winning debates without any positive benefit for their pocket. Spending time on worthless discussions is a way of wasting important time.
