White Sun – Six Karmic Powders and Seeds

People tend to express their feelings or emotions when they are in contact with environmental changes, for example, they suddenly get angry when someone says unpleasant words. Between mental activities and actions, there are some processes in our mind that ultimately make certain decisions and corresponding actions are performed. We are always in a certain environment at any time and in any place. Some things are always happening in our environment, and how we perceive and react to these changes in our environment depends on our cultivation. When in danger, one will run to save his dear life.

This action-reaction couple is constantly taking place and we can be aware of it or not. When we do routine things like closing and locking the door after leaving our house, we may not remember if we actually locked the house or car door after walking a few steps and wondering if I locked my door. because! We did it naturally and we also released it naturally without attachment. But for some changes in our environment, the mind makes a decision and takes an action to react to the environmental changes and ultimately sticks to it.

For example, smoking where we know that no one is born with a cigarette in hand. After the first temptation to smoke the first cigarette at some point in life, something remains in the mind. The first cigarette that sends the emotion is the so-called attachment, where subsequently, the more the person smokes, the more they become attached to the habit of smoking until one day it will be terribly difficult for them to quit, both psychologically and physically. Smoking is just one example of a dust that pollutes our mind and soul. However, there are many other things that we tend to leave an imprint on our minds and that we do not usually let go easily.

There is another consciousness besides the six consciousnesses that we call karmic seeds. It is the awareness of past lives and when the external condition and environment changes are suitable or mature, the corresponding karmic seeds will sprout, take root, grow and then influence this person to take corresponding actions. The true self may not want to do it, but due to the influence of attachments and karmic seeds, this person continues to perform those actions no matter how much he is advised not to do so. He has practically no way to stop the action, just like smoking, from the first cigarette.

We have been influenced by the first six senses for so long that we are used to them and draw on them constantly. Usually our decisions are not made by our true self but by the karmic self and most of the time they are made to satisfy the need of the body but not the need of the soul because we cannot see the soul and recognize it. This may sound simple, but most tragic crimes are due to past life debts that occur from changes in the environment when the six powders cover the normal senses. Although it is due to the influence of those karmic seeds and attachments, it is still the SELF who makes the decision to take that action and therefore the SELF who took the wrong action has to suffer later. Cultivation is awakening this SELF and making sure that he doesn’t take the wrong action by cleaning up the dust of the world that has blinded us.

If we are able to maintain a higher and detached point of view to see this world, then imagine yourself as a spectator, watching the effect of the cause from above like a play that knows the end result. Knowing the cause that gives the corresponding effect, the awake and wise fear the cause, but the lost fear the effect. Be alert before making any decision or when there is any entry into your mind through these six roots and powders, think deeply for yourself about the consequences that will follow later in time. Exercise careful caution and vigilance, otherwise we would definitely make the same mistake over and over again. Recognize your true self and win the battle against the karmic self.

This is not an easy goal to achieve because it requires a constant effort in self-cultivation in our daily lives. Whether you can be your own teacher or not is up to you. And whether you would like to be enslaved by the physical self or the karmic self is also up to you. You have a choice as a human being because animals have no choice. They have to live a life that was trapped in that animal form. It is very important to be awake to this simple truth of clearing the dust before our eyes to allow us to see.

This is the saying of my Heavenly Master JiGong:

“Life is not the cut and end of something. It is actually the ebb and flow and change of a series of interrelated causes within consequences and consequences within causes. The past is over, but the future can be pursued.” The cultivation of truth can make people separate from the past and create the future It can make people change their outlook on life and stop blaming Heaven and resentful of people Then one will seek alone overcome the ego or the self one day, and realize that all things are essentially empty.”
