Why you should stay away from rebounding

So what’s the first thing to do when you spot a BOUNCE?

LEASE!

Hit the road jack.

Run forest run!

Most people think that the best way to get over someone is to move right into another relationship. I myself am guilty of this crime sometimes, so I cannot judge.

Although the man might say that he is ready for a new relationship after a recent breakup, the reality is: JUMPING from one relationship to another if one person is not yet fully ready to move on is just a recipe for disaster.

Stop making excuses like, “Well, I know it’s only been a week, but he said he’s totally over his ex and now he’s ready for another relationship…”

Or “even though he only broke up with her 2 days ago, she said I’m different and she’s never been with anyone like me….”

Or “we’re just going on a double date with her ex because he just wants to HELP her move on…”.

BULL.

What else did he say? What is a regular at the soup kitchen?

Or that he cries every time he sees a homeless man?

Or that you like animals?

aspect; there’s innocence, there’s too much trust, and then there’s ASKING.

Here’s the general rule of thumb: after you break up with someone you really loved, it actually TAKES HALF THE LENGTH OF THE RELATIONSHIP TO GET OVER.

Therefore, if the guy was dating someone for a year, it would take at least 6 months before that person can move on from the relationship.

For some it may be longer, and for others it may be shorter, but in general, that’s the ALL-ENCLUSIVE rule. Of course, it all depends on how much the guy loved the girl. If it was just an adventure, then a week or maybe even a couple of days is enough. But if it was a deep relationship, then you better stick to the rules to be safe.

If you are also looking to start as friends first and get to know each other, then you are on the right track.

But if the man goes straight to you while his self esteem is at an all time low then there is nowhere else to go but DOWN HILL. That’s because it will only force both of you to follow the same familiar path as the one you just came from.
