Banksy claims a new work of art (VIDEO)

The artist posted a video on his Instagram site, where he can be seen, in the dark and with a headlamp, working on a wall in Reading prison, in the south of England.

The stencil represents a prisoner who escapes using a rope made of sheets tied together and who takes care to carry a typewriter in his flight. This work can be seen as a nod to the most famous inmate of the building: Oscar Wilde, sentenced to two years in prison after being convicted of “gross indecency”, or homosexuality, in 1885.

Others also see it as support for a campaign to turn this English prison into an arts and cultural center rather than a housing complex.

Banksy named his work “Create Escape”.
