City Center: the Las Vegas project that will transform the city and gambling in Las Vegas

We hear all the headlines everywhere. Las Vegas gambling casinos are losing money, Atlantic City casinos are losing money too, and many gambling centers across the country are adjusting their budgets to make it through the next year and a half of tough economic times. This budget adjustment has also affected the job market in these regions that rely primarily on gambling income to keep food on their tables, but throughout all this sadness and doom, there is one company that still has the guts to run a great project to Las Vegas and bringing a lot of jobs along with it. MGM spent $ 9.1 billion for its incredible City Center project, which will go live in late 2009.

The incredible thing about City Center is that it is practically a city within a city. Whatever you are looking to do within the city, be it shopping, dining, golf, sports or gambling, you will find that you can do it all in the city center. The beauty of the city center is that you can also buy combined rooms and live there. It will be a city within a city capable of sustaining itself without much help from outside.

This all comes at a time when many analysts predict that the economic downturn will likely subsidize in early 2010 and by then downtown will be completely finished and this will bring at least 12,000 new jobs to Las Vegas. This new project and the new jobs to come should put Las Vegas instantly back on track with the economic booms it was enjoying before the recession hit.

Now if you have some hindsight, I would look further into investing in Las Vegas homes right now as they are so cheap and sellers can’t even give them away. This new project will also attract more players and exclusive visitors than Las Vegas is used to having in its city. This is a very exciting project that I have been waiting for a long time to finally happen.

Right now, our job is to get through this recession and try to save a little more money, but it’s nice to know that there are amazing projects like this one in Las Vegas to look forward to the next time we plan our trip there sometime in the year. 2010. Surely the future of Las Vegas looks fun
