Money blessing – funding package for stages in Lower Austria

The Lower Austrian provincial government decided on Tuesday a funding package of more than 4.5 million euros for cultural organizers in the summer of 2021. The package of measures affects more than 30 venues and brings “planning security for this season”, said Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner (ÖVP). “Culture is an essential part of our life and needs our support.”

According to the state press service, the decision includes the majority of those locations that start their gaming operations as soon as the legal situation permits or offer cultural programs in the summer months. These include the summer venues, but also year-round venues such as the Waldviertler Hoftheater, the Theaterforum Schwechat or the Mödling City Theater. Mikl-Leitner emphasized that 2021 will also be a challenging year for culture. (apa)
