Six basic requirements to live a happy life

Abraham Maslow began developing the “Hierarchy of Needs” model in the 1940s to explain what we, as human beings, need to thrive and find true happiness in our lives. Sociologists can now divide the needs, wants, and desires of human beings into six clear categories using Maslow’s theory to tell us exactly what we need to be successful members of our society.

1. Peace of mind

Almost all religions, metaphysics, and social science studies are geared toward helping people achieve this state of life. Fear, guilt, or anger are negative forces that can also influence whether or not we succeed.

2. Good health and lots of energy

Without having a healthy body, nothing else really matters. There are several things that a person can do to ensure that they achieve this; eat a proper diet, exercise, get enough sleep, etc.

3. Love relationships

We as human beings all need long-term loving relationships. Be it this parental, romantic, family love or that of a dear friend; A loving relationship is the hallmark of a healthy person.

4. Financial freedom

Money does not buy happiness; however, in their absence, life tends to seem much more complicated. Financial freedom gives us a sense of security.

5. Commitment to goals and ideals

We all have a need for a purpose in life. The battle we face to achieve these goals is one of humanity’s most driving forces.

6. Personal fulfillment and self-fulfillment

The feeling that we are really “becoming”. Feeling personal fulfillment, knowing that one is working diligently towards maximum potential, brings an abundance of happiness.

According to Abraham Maslow, once we have achieved self-realization, we can take our life one step further by helping others to achieve their own personal fulfillment, because we will have reached a place in our own growth where we can think and feel outside of ourselves. .
