The right men’s suit for my body type

Men’s suits are a classic and timeless part of your wardrobe. They can exude confidence, style, and often your personality. However, many men do not select the right fabric, style, pattern and combination when it comes to dressing. Shorter men are often seen wearing jackets with peak lapels, which in turn make them appear shorter. Or you see burly men who wear solid fabrics that in turn draw attention to their size.

Many people don’t realize how illusory our clothes are and how we are perceived when we dress the right way. Below, I’ll outline several style guides for men to consider based on their body type and height. However, always keep in mind that it is never the clothes that the man wears, but the man who wears the clothes. Although, from time to time, it is good that both congratulate each other.

As a general rule of thumb, if you’re short, stay away from anything with a large flap. Big lapels include peak lapel jackets and shawl collar tuxedos that will portray the illusion that you are significantly shorter than you are. The jacket’s design will broaden your appearance instead of slimming it down. So, to get the right look, I recommend anything with a skinny tag or a basic notch tag. As for the fabric, it really won’t matter if you go for a high-quality wool or a basic blend, as they’re all so well made these days. However, it is imperative that you lean your wardrobe towards stripes. Pinstripes in particular will do wonders for your body type. They will lengthen you in areas and slim you down in other areas. They are truly an illusion of size and give off a perfect sense of elegance. As for the shirt, always look for shirts that have a basic collar and try to stay away from open collar shirts. Remember, they will only add to your complaint. As for the tie, stick with a windsor stocking or a basic knot. These will elongate your neck and give you a great look. You can also try skinnier ties which are all the rage now. They will surely give you a great sense of style while giving you a nice slim look.

The other category of men we will focus on are those who have a heavier top and bottom. For those men I recommend sticking with basic colors and fine stripes. As noted above, pinstripes allow for a slim look. Also, be sure to build your wardrobe with basic men’s lapel suits. Stay away from skinny lapel or peak lapel as they can add to your frustration again. It is very important that when you wear a suit you consider how it will look not only to you, but to others. A suit is a sign that you are serious and want to make sure you get off the right track.

So remember that the next time you buy a suit, consider the fabric, the style, the shirt and the tie. All of this will give you the right look to help you choose the right wardrobe for you.
