Towards more sustainable canteens in Wallonia


The Walloon Green Deal continues its initiatives to facilitate the rapprochement between local producers and canteens

More than two years ago, Wallonia launched its Green Deal “Sustainable Cantines”. Objective: to mobilize community kitchens and school canteens so that they increase the sustainable aspect of meals.

Today, 220 canteens have signed the agreement and other partners (public authorities, producers) have embarked on this steep path, because we know that quantity and quality hardly go hand in hand … Of course, the challenges are many , conceded a year ago Marie Legrain, project manager of the Eating Tomorrow unit of the ASBL Socopro which coordinates this Green Deal. We are lucid, but Wallonia is giving itself the means here to move the lines in practice.e.
