What’s the best pool cue tip for drawing in English?

I bet I get this question 2-3 times a week, usually from beginner or novice players, but that’s okay, I’m happy to give my opinion. Is it LePro, Tiger, Elk Master or maybe Moori? No, my answer is always the same, the best tips to get to draw English are at your fingertips. You are developing a good stroke that will help you master reverse English. Don’t grip the pool cue too hard, good and loose, good tracking is essential and practice, practice, and practice. You can experiment with different tips until you find one you like, but the real key is in a solid stroke – don’t get too hung up on the tip and the results being too closely related.

Now that you have mastered drawing in English, stop using it so much. I know the rush you feel when you pull the cue ball back as if it were tied to a rope, but honestly, it is too difficult to control the speed of the ball with reverse English and often you get in trouble. You should play high position or follow English whenever possible, you will have much better luck judging the speed of the table and you will be much more accurate. Draw English can also throw the object ball and make you miss shots. I realize that there will be times when reverse English will be a must, so you definitely need it in your arsenal, but don’t overdo it. Now you know my advice on tips, thanks for reading.
