Veebeam HD

If you are one of those who is in the habit of using your PC to watch TV or videos, you have probably had the inclination to transfer those films and documentaries to the big screen that you have sitting in your living room. However, it is attractive to movie lovers, especially when the solution could be right under their noses and the cost could be at their fingertips with the Veebeam HD.

As a computer, your laptop offers all kinds of possibilities, but with Veebeam HD, movie lovers can play in a completely different field. They now have the ability to mirror what is displayed on your laptop screen directly to the television and this is possible with wireless resources. Because Veebeam HD uses newer technology, it demands more resources from your laptop.

Although some restrictions will apply, such as being able to play copyrighted materials and some DVD discs, there are many more possibilities with Veebeam HD, such as playing Netflix, slideshows, YouTube videos, and even Hulu (the free version). The Veebeam HD is available in two different versions (standard or high definition) and prices range from $ 99 to $ 150

In order for the HD transmitter to operate at its highest peak, it is intended to remain close to (or on top of) the television. Although it can work through a paper-thin wall, an unobstructed line of sight from the laptop is preferred. There is no power switch for the Veebeam HD; however, for ease of handling, the adapter is located in a slot and, once removed, the unit turns on and off when the adapter is returned.

The Veebeam looks like something straight out of a sci-fi movie. It’s gray and almost looks like it’s squatting, with about eight ports at the rear. These connectors include a pair of USB ports, video ports (white, yellow, and red), an HDMI port, and one for a digital audio port.

There is almost nothing to hook the transmitter on, in fact you could probably accomplish this with one hand tied behind your back. Compatible with XP, Vista, “7” and Mac OS, it has some software to install, however that is also easy. The only thing left to do after installation is plug the adapter into your laptop’s USB port and start streaming for hours of video fun.
