Can you use pH strips to tell if you are pregnant? I’ll tell you

I recently got a question from a woman asking if pH test strips can tell you if you are pregnant or not. I also wanted to know if these work better or sooner than the pregnancy tests that you can get at any drugstore or supermarket. I will address these concerns in the following article.

What pH test strips are used for in terms of conception and pregnancy: In truth, these strips are not often used to tell if you are pregnant. The best tool to determine that is your standard pregnancy test that measures the surge in hormones that occurs after (and if) you’ve conceived. In reality, these strips are typically used to tell you if you are more likely (at least for the time of the test) to conceive a boy or a girl.

See, if you are acidic or have a higher pH, it is said that you are more likely to conceive a girl, as this state is more detrimental to the production of male or Y sperm. Similarly, if these little strips show that you is alkaline in nature or has a lower pH, then it is said that you are more likely to conceive a child since the environment is not as hostile or detrimental to these more vulnerable little ones.

Many women will also continue to use the strips while trying to change their pH. For example, if you are acidic but are trying to have a child, you can change your diet to include foods with a low pH and you can shower with certain things to lower this level. Then you would continue using the strips to see how well your efforts are paying off or to determine which foods or douches are giving you the best results. The same process is true if you’re trying to have a girl, but instead you’ll be trying to become more acidic.

People sometimes combine the use of the strips with urine or saliva ovulation predictors, as timing is another aspect of this process that you can control to get the results you want. People who want a boy baby will need to conceive later in their fertility cycle than people who want a girl baby. This is where ovulation predictors also become very important.

However, once conception occurs, both tools have already done their job and you will then move on to pregnancy tests and ultrasounds. I hope this article has cleared up any questions you may have about when and how pH strips come into play.
