If you want to buy an electric car or mountain boots this year, you have to be prepared for gaps in the range. The corona pandemic is partly to blame for this. But there are other reasons as well.
Cars that cannot be assembled because an electronic part is missing, outdoor jackets that are left in the tailor’s shop because the zipper does not arrive from China, or just wood that is missing to be able to build pallets for transport: The corona pandemic has torn holes in the close-knit network of the global economy. In the hoped-for upswing, the shortage slows down. And it shouldn’t be over anytime soon.
