Keyword research on blogs

So what is keyword research? It’s about figuring out which keywords web users are typing into the search boxes of the various search engines to get to your website. Some of the main search engines that people use are Google, Yahoo, and MSN. After doing keyword research, you will have a list of keywords that web users are using and use them to optimize your blog. One way to find out is by using a web crawler like sitemeter.

There are 2 important tools that you can use and they are free to use. One of the tools is Wordtracker called the Keyword Suggestion Tool. This tool lets you know the number of daily searches for each keyword that people use up to the first 100 keywords. If you want to have more, you will need to sign up for the paid version to get more long tail keywords. Long tail keywords are important in niche market research.

Another tool will be Google Keyword Tool External. The advantage of using this tool is that it allows you to see which are the competitive keywords used by online advertisers. However, it does not give you the exact number of searches. This tool also provides you with a list of other keywords that you might not have thought of otherwise.

In addition to writing good quality content, you also need to make sure there are people reading it. There is no point in writing content that nobody wants to read. Then the concept of supply and demand comes into play. With the right keywords found on your blog, people can find your blog as a result.
