Safety means being free from risk or danger in your work environment. People who engage in culinary activities are good cooks, not only because of the delicious dishes they prepare, but also because of their level of home maintenance skill. One of the main reasons people slip, trip, and fall in the kitchen is poor cleanliness. Many situations can cause a slip, trip or fall. They include: wet stains, greasy or polished floor, loose flooring or carpeting, uneven walking surfaces, clutter, electrical cords, etc.

To enhance a safe kitchen or work environment, keep walkways and stairways free of debris, debris, ruts, holes, and obstructions.
