Leave these 3 things at home on your next RV adventure

Since you are going to be in an RV, you may be thinking that you don’t need to hold back on the things you are carrying as space and weight will not be an issue. Well, it is true that you have more freedom to bring whatever you want, but that does not mean that you should leave everything in your RV.

The goal is still to bring only the things that are essential. Otherwise, your RV will be too crowded and would defeat the purpose of your having a stress-free and relaxing ride.

So the next time you embark on a motorhome adventure, put these 3 things down:

Kitchen appliances

It may seem tempting to take your waffle iron, coffee maker or rice steamer with you because they will make cooking on the go easier. But now that I think about it, you’re more likely to end up with more work because you’ll be cleaning up afterwards!

It’s wise to plan your meals in advance, aiming for recipes that don’t require a full kitchen. You don’t want to spend hours in your trailer kitchen preparing a meal! A couple of plates, some silverware, 1 pot and 1 skillet should be enough for your trip!

electronics

Please note that you took this trip to relax and take a break from your daily routine. Carrying electronic devices like video games, kindles, and tablets will only take away the purpose of your vacation.

Sure, you can bring your cell phone for emergencies and to take photos, but if possible, it’s best to stay away from electronic devices while traveling. During times of inactivity, find fun ways to connect with yourself or your peers without the use of technology: have deep conversations, play board games or sing along, and dance to some music.

For entertainment, bring a book to read or a journal to write down your experiences.

Firewood

Firewood is heavy and takes up a lot of space in the trunk, so it is best left at home. You may think that firewood is expensive when purchased elsewhere, but just think of the cost of gasoline that you will save by charging it.

Also, most camps advise against bringing your own firewood as it can introduce strange insects into the camp that can disturb the natural ecosystem of the area.

So next time you’re planning an RV adventure, leave these 3 things at home and focus on relaxing and having fun!
