Bully Types and Personalities: What Motivates Them?

Did you know that there are different types of stalkers? Most people think that everyone is the same as they seem obsessive and relentless in their pursuit of a person. But actually they have many different profiles.

1. The Romantic or Rejected Stalker is the most common of all. This charming character usually becomes obsessed with someone with whom he has been romantically involved who has decided to end the relationship. They will try to reconcile with that person who has rejected them and when it is clear that it will not work they will tend to want revenge, since now they may feel humiliated. They will attempt bullying and even violence, especially if there has been a history of it in the relationship. If the stalker’s ex starts a relationship with someone new, they can become very unpleasant and lash out at the new suitor as well. These narcissistic bullies have very little social skills and very few friends.

2. The romantic or intimate stalker believes that their victim is their long-lost soulmate. In the delusional thought of him, they are convinced that their victim feels the same way. This is called erotomania and is a rare personality disorder. The problem with this stalker is that they believe they are entitled to their victim’s affection because they put so much effort into their own labors of love. They will send cards, letters and gifts and will also call their victim constantly. If the person they are in love with rejects them, they will see it as an encouragement and dismiss it for what it really is. But eventually, when they realize that their victim has no interest in them, they can become threatening and violent. Because this stalker is convinced that their feelings of love are real and reciprocated, they will continue to stalk their victim until they are stopped. This type of stalker does not respect the law and will view any court order against them as something to be ignored. They are cunning, devious, and see winning the hearts of their victims as a challenge. This stalker lives in their own delusional mind and refuses to listen to anyone who tries to confront them with reality.

3. The incompetent stalker is less likely to hurt their victims and likely has a history of serial stalking. Their desire is to have a romantic relationship with their victim and they are completely blind to the feelings of the person they are after. This stalker has a huge ego and is convinced that everyone is attracted to him. They are not as persistent as the other stalkers mentioned and may give up the chase if threatened with legal action.

4. The resentful stalker has a real bee on his hood and suffers from paranoia. If any person despises them, they seek revenge, and often on a grand scale. God help you if you come across this type of stalker because they may not touch you personally, but they will terrorize your life with verbal threats, cause damage to your property, and steal or harm your pet. They will also take legal action against you if possible. Hopefully, they will be the ones facing the charges in court instead of you.

5. The Predator Stalker is not a nice person and, fortunately, he is the least common of all stalkers. They usually get more attention because when they make a move on a victim, it can become front page news. These characters are sexual predators with a desire for gratification and total control of their victims. This type of stalker is sexually deviant and will make obscene phone calls to his victim while he fantasizes about what he will do to him once he is contained. They have low intelligence and are motivated by their antisocial needs.

6. The Cyberstalker has been added to the list of types of stalkers since the advent of the Internet. This has become the new playground for stalkers who can come and go from chat rooms and forums looking for victims. These stalkers use spyware to gain access to their victim’s computer, where they can find all the personal information they need to make their victims’ world a living hell. A Cyberstalker can be any of the stalker personalities mentioned above and they can wreak so much havoc.

Knowing what type of stalker you have can be extremely helpful in understanding how they think and how they are likely to act. A stalker tries to get into the minds of his victims to intimidate them at their weakest point. Once they are obsessed with you, they will pull out every trick in the book to break your will. Being able to analyze what stalker personality he appears to be can give you the edge you may need to quickly end his reign of terror.
